G&B Electronic Designs Ltd, the PCB design and assembly sub-contractor, celebrated their 25th anniversary by hosting a party.
Held locally to their factory in Bordon 100 guests made up of staff, customers and suppliers help celebrate the past twenty five years with a meal, drinks and dancing late into the night. It was a relaxed event, however George McBrown MD did take a few minutes to address his guests. He thanked staff for all their hard work, saying "I can't find the words to tell you what a great team we have at G&B, everybody is doing their bit for the common cause....... I thank you all very much for your contributions." George also welcomed customers and suppliers old and new thanking them individually for their support and sharing their success stories.
George then gave guests a brief history of G&B explaining how he started the business back in 1980 over the top of a motorbike shop in Haslemere. Two years later he moved the company into a starter industrial unit in Liphook before expanding into a second unit and separate design office.
By 2003 G&B had outgrown it facility in Liphook and moved to larger premises in Bordon where they invested heavily in improvements and modernisation to the factory. Finally George said there have been a lot of changes within G&B over the past 25 years and the 26th will be no different. We have expansion plans to add 12000 square feet of factory space, additional offices and a new pick and place line. This facility will enable us to expand the business significantly over the next two years, building on the high quality design and manufacturing services we now offer.
Dave Carroway, Sales Manager, then presented George with an award for his 25 years of service on behalf of all the staff. Dave said that running a successful sub-contracting company in the present climate was no easy task and although he'd had only been at the company a short time he could see that George's dedication and fair attitude to his staff and customers were ultimately the secret behind G&B success.
