Contract Manufacturing

G&B's Contract Manufacturing Service is configured to suite a variety of customer requirements from free issue kits to full procurement and prototypes to volume assembly.

The key to successful manufacturing is in planning.  G&B's Planning Department will devise the most cost effective assembly procedure and produce the necessary tooling and programs. 

Prototypes Assembly Service

Hand placed techniques for SMT components are suitable for low volume fast turnaround prototypes.

Prototype BGA Assembly, Inspection and Rework.  

BGA assembly of prototypes can be accurately assembled using our Ersa scope optical alignment system. rework and inspection is also catered for in the set up. 

Volume Production.

G&B's SMT workshop has 6 Pick and place lines suitable for medium to high volume.

Europlacer Line.  The hugh feeder capacity of the Europlacer progress 6 makes this line ideal for medium batch requirements. With an placement rate of around 3500 CPH this is a cost effective solution for PCB's with a large range of items from 0603 discrete to large QFP's. The unique trolly feature of the Europlacer enables off line loading keeping down-time to a minimum.

Quad PS2 Line.  The unique 4 head placement design of the Quad PS2 makes 5000 CPH a reality with this line.  Suitable for low medium and high volume markets this line is a cost effective solution.

Panasonic Line. This is the latest acquisition to our SMT department.  Ideal for high volume work this machine is happy to run continuously at speeds up to 27,000 CPH.  After loading the PCB the conveyer takes it through the automatic stencil paste printer then through the various stations of the placement machine and finally through the 5 Zone oven. Specified for fine pitch and BGA assembly this line is extreamly capable.

Mixed Technology Assembly

The majority of PCB's have a number of conventional component, even if it is only a connector, and G&B cater for this using a varity of processes operated by trained assembly technictions the process and operator identified during the planning process.

Leaded Assembly

Suitable for batch sized of up to 100's the light guided workstation are an effective tool.

Functional  Test

Complete Functional test can be carried out on board level assemblies or complete assemblies.

Inspection and ATE Test

The aim is to keep inspection costs to a minimum whilst maintaining a high level of quality.  Automatic Optical Inspection and ATE techniques are adopted where practical.  

Production Control

For repeat work purchasing, stock control and production planning can be controlled through G&B's database.  The database looks after sales orders, stock, MRP, serial number tracability, capacity planning BOM's and engineering change control.
